Best of 2012! 7 Differences Between Feminist & 'Traditional' Porn

It's never to late to ponder about all the fabulous things that happened in 2012 (think: GetLusty)! We loved this one so much, we put it back on the shelf as a, "Best of"!

At some point in our lives, we have all seen pornography. But have you watched any feminist porn? Feminist porn is gaining wide popularity. There is even the annual Good for Her Feminist Porn Awards! We've already blogged about 11 Must See Feminist Porn Sites. Now it's time to discuss what makes feminist porn so different from common, traditional, male-driven porn. If you have not seen feminist porn, then you are in for some very big differences! Our Crimson Love reports.

* * *

Everyone I know has seen porn at some point in their life, whether it was by accident or on purpose. We have all watched the blondes with big boobs and dramatic makeup caked on have sex with the ridiculously hot men with the six packs and huge cocks.

The moaning, writhing, and weird faces that traditional porn stars make is fake and very bad acting. However, feminist porn is different from the norm. Here are 7 major differences that set feminist porn apart!

#1 Solid story lines

One of the biggest differences in feminist porn versus regular male driven porn is that the story line tends to be more solid. There is a beginning, a middle and an end and it's all developed through the course of the movie. Also, the characters have more complexity to them.

#2 Characters are more true to life

Have you ever thought, "That'd sexy scene would absolutely never happen in my life." In many feminist porn flicks, you'll find people of different ages, shapes, gender identities, sexualities and sizes. In regular porn everyone looks like Barbie and Ken, or like a living blow up doll.

#3 Less degrading to women

We were just Tweeting about gang bang rape acts. This kind of 'porn' sometimes have women crying "rape" and not looking like they're enjoying themselves. How the hell is that supposed to be a turn on to women? The acts and things that happen in feminist porn are not degrading but empowering. Feminist porn more accurately depicts real female fantasies, as opposed to traditional porn's false depictions of what it thinks women enjoy sexually. Think of Beautiful Agony, where you have real people masturbating and featuring real orgasms! HOT!

#4 More artful

Feminist porn tends to be more artfully produced and directed than regular porn. Think of Erika Lust's films. Even just the picture emphasizes the importance of art and elegance in sexuality. It's essential! It's sexy! It's feminist porn! The cinematography is more thoughtful and it is way less cheesy.

#5 Better acting

People--women, men and genders from all colors of the spectrum--actually tell their emotions on their faces and in their acting. If actors are having a fabulous time, it shows! If they're not, that shows, too! I'm not saying it's Oscar worthy (depending on the feminist pornographer), but many adult films especially for ladies have more actual... acting! They're movies, right? Makes sense. The moaning and orgasms are less likely to be fake. There is even some comedy thrown in! Have you seen Bike Smut? It can be hot and hilarious.

# 6 More sensuality

In comparison to regular male driven porn, there is more sensuality and there seems to be more appreciation for the body. Traditional porn only focuses on getting to the banging scenes- i.e. kiss, kiss boobs, bang. It's quick! In feminist porn, the process is more about appreciating the body rather than using it.

#7 Better wardrobe/costumes

Ever notice how costumes in regular porn look like they came from a Halloween store? Well the costumes in feminist porn are better. They aren't as cheap and are more realistic!

With these differences in mind, go to watch some regular porn and some feminist porn! See the differences for yourself!

Gents! 6 Ways NOT To Ask for Head

Quite a few men offline and online have asked this question. How can I get my partner to give me head? As usual, we're here to help. We understand asking your partner for a blowjob can be tricky. Most importantly, gentlemen, you don't want to appear to be a selfish lover. So for now, let's review the ways not to get a blowjob. GetLusty writer Crimson Love reports.

* * *

#1 Don't be a selfish lover

If you are not willing to go down on your woman, don't even bother asking for a blowjob. Reciprocation is the best way to receive more love. Give and ye shall receive. Start enjoying cunnilingus. Ensuring that your lady comes first is the key to a great sex life. If she isn't orgasming (and you should know this by asking her, for example), how do you expect she's going to be extremely interested in your pleasure? She's worried about how she's going to be able to orgasm--not you! Not to worry, gents. We'll have more on selfish loving soon! And plenty of cunnilingus tips, too. Suffice to say, your goal should be her pleasure!

#2 Give positive feedback

As ladies, we don't enjoy hearing how horrible we are at giving head. Besides, how is that supposed to give me enthusiasm about going down on you? Don't tell her she should blow you because she needs the practice. That might get you a punch in the balls rather than get her to suck them. Instead, try telling her how much you enjoy feeling her mouth on your throbbing penis. That they've been waiting for her wonderful mouth. Tell her she makes you feel so amazing after you know she's been pleasured.

#3 Realize it's a privilege

Receiving head is a privilege. Not a right. So when you demand a blowjob as an expectation because, "that's what women do," you're very wrong. Be positive, and don't be demanding. When I say this, I mean don't act entitled like it's her life's mission to blow you all the time. Be patient. If you think that a blowjob should happen everyday--please tell your partner. Talk to her about it. Unless she's absolutely in love with giving you head, she should be aware of your issue.

#4 Don't compare your lady

If your lady isn't in the mood to give you a blowjob, don't compare her to your ex or an old fling. If you think it will inspire some sort of competition and make her want to do it, you're wrong. It won't and may likely do the opposite. Trying to trump up competition isn't a loving thing to do. Instead, try telling her how amazing it was the last time she did provide you that amazing pleasure of giving you an amazing blowjob. She's amazing! No one can please you like she can. That will get you much closer to getting a blowjob in the future.

#5 Don't coerce

Don't just force her head down there. I am pretty sure that if you do, you won't find her down there again any time soon. We women don't want to feel force or coercion. Why? Well, it provides negative associations moving forward. If she's experienced trauma in the past, you may be heading down a road of therapy--or even just long conversations about boundaries. Be nice and you will receive nice actions back.

#6 Don't get mad

If she refuses after your efforts just let it go and don't get mad. Instead try to figure out why she said no.  Be empathetic. There is likely a good reason why your lady isn't feeling in the mood to go down on you. Maybe she has a negative association. Could you imagine being in her position? If she got mad at you for not going down on her? It'd feel pretty bad.

Keep sex amazing, gents! Be patient, nice and understanding. We'll respond with love and amazing head. If not now--soon!

His 10 Erogenous Zones You Should Know

We all have those places where we love being touched. Those places where, if your man touches you, it send chills running down your back. Those are your erogenous zones! You get goose bumps and makes you, dare I say, moist. Your man has those special spots, too. Want to start of your sexual session a little slower? Touch, massage or gently rub these erogenous zones! It makes your sexual experience longer and more wonderful to say the least. Our Crimson Love reports.

* * *

#1 Neck & shoulders

Men love to have their necks kissed, licked, sucked, touched and rubbed. Why? The skin on the neck, collar bone and the back of the neck are very sensitive. The neck is most definitely an erogenous zone. The lightest touch can awaken his body and his sexual desires. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, the neck is an excellent place to start in making him beg for your love.

#2 Fingers

Surprised? Don't be! The fingers, especially the finger tips, have a high sensitivity due to a high concentration of nerves. Next time you're feeling frisky, take your mans hand, nibble on his finger tips, let your teeth graze the pads of his fingers, gently lick them and see where it gets you.

#3 Inner thighs

The inner thigh, even though it tends to be a bit fleshy will have him at your mercy. Light butterfly kisses, soft caresses and licks will have him pitching a tent with some premium wood in no time. Though his inner thighs might be slightly hairy, they're still super sensitive and even a bit ticklish.

#4 Tailbone/spine

Oh yes, ladies. Take in all of the delicious soft moans your man will make when you release your touches and caresses on his lower back. The spine and tail bone are composed of bundles of nerves and when lightly caressed, licked, or kissed will send pleasure coursing through your mans' body.

#5 Lips

Yes this is obvious but let's not neglect it. Your man needs and loves to be kissed. The Lips are one of the most sensitive parts of the human body. Do you ever pay close attention to your man when you kiss him? Next time pay really close attention to how his body reacts and you will realize that that kiss does more than just make his lips moist. Nibble, suck, lick and bite away!

#6 Abdomen

You know how good it feels when you rub your tummy? Well imagine how good it feels to your man when you kiss, lick and nibble his. It's a very sensitive area, especially when your move lower towards the groin. Starting at the top and working your way to the bottom. By the time you meet his dick, he may already even be hard. But no rush, it's not about his dick right now. Waiting to great his genitals makes it all the more loving and intimate.

#7 Ears

Why are ears erogenous? The outer ear contains thousands of nerve endings, many of them concentrated on the ear lobe. For this reason, the ear is an erogenous zone for many people. Want to get sexy? Try this move on for size! While you're sitting and watching a movie or TV, caress and massage his ears or nibble and lick them. This will not only relax him, but get him in the mood for some serious play time.

#8 Forearms

Why you ask? Think about the last time you got goosebumps? You felt them especially on the hairs of your arms. Massaging or just touching gently this forearm area will get that same effect. Want to try it out? Gently rub the softer skin on the underside of his arm. He may even get goosebumps and chills, not to mention it sends clear messages of your "loving" intentions.

#9 Mind

You can metaphorically connect with your partner with your amazing intelligence and wit! The brain is the largest sex organ and most multifunctional. Play a sexy game with your partner all day, sending naughty text messages and e-mails. When you get home that night have something sexy and surprising prepared, you will be sure to blow his mind!

#10 Scalp/ head

If your man is in the shower, offer to wash his hair and massage his scalp for him. I guarantee your naked body won't be the only thing he is standing at attention for. There are even certain ways to massage his head before, during or after sex. What? You're massaging him after sex!? You're such a good lover! That will definitely earn you brownie points.

The ABC's of STD's: Part 1 (A-L)

When getting under the umbrella topic of sex there will always be the topic of STD's and STI's. Sadly, not everyone knows the consequence of each STD and the proper treatment for it and prevention steps. Our Crimson Love reports.

* * *

Here at GetLusty we love our readers and want you all to be happy, healthy, and sexy. We talk a lot about love and sex but not much about what happens when a person is irresponsible or the victim of an irresponsible lover. We want you to be armed with knowledge to protect yourself! Without further pause here is are the GetLusty ABC's of STD's.

A
AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)
  • Causes: Unprotected sex or sharing of hypodermic needles resulting in HIV. This breaks down your immune system and lessens T-cell (Cells that send signals to your immune system, alerting it of intruders) production.
  • Signs and Symptoms: The symptoms of AIDS are usually comparable to having a really bad flue.
  • Treatments: There is no cure for AIDS yet, however there are medications for HIV to slow the reproduction of the virus in the body. (For more information go to http://aids.gov/ or http://www.ucsfhealth.org/conditions/aids/treatment.html)
C
Chancroid
  • Causes: Sexually transmitted when skin comes in contact with an open sore
  • Signs and symptoms: You may experience raised, puss filled bumps and painful lymph glands in the groin.
  • Treatments: Chancroid can be cured with successful treatment, in addition to stoping transmission to others and banishing symptoms. (For more information visit, http://www.idph.state.il.us/public/hb/hbchancroid.htm)
Chlymidia
  • Causes: Sexually transmitted through unprotected sex orally, anally or vaginally.
  • Signs and symptoms: Chlymidia is usually asymptomatic for women but when symptoms do occur they are usually burning urination or abnormal vaginal discharge. The same symptoms also occur along with the possibility of itching or swollen testicles.
  • Treatments: This STD can be cured properly and easily with antibiotics. ( For more information visit http://www.cdc.gov/std/chlamydia/stdfact-chlamydia.htm )
G
Genital Warts
  • Causes: A Sexually transmitted HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) infection involving the anus, vagina, mouth or penis.
  • Sign and Symptoms: You may see raised cauliflower looking bumps, flesh  colored spots that are raised or flat. For women you can get them inside your vagina, on your cervix in your anus or on the outside of your vagina or anus. For men,  you can get them on your penis, in or on your anus, thighs, groin or scrotum. You can also get them on your lips, mouth, tongue and throat. Also, sometime you may have warts and not see them.
  • Treatments: There are many treatment options for genital warts. They include, wart removal surgery, medication you have to take orally or apply regularly, or an in office skin treatments done by your doctor. (For more information visit,  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001889/)
Gonorrhea
  • Causes: Sexually transmitted from an infected person.
  • Signs and Symptoms: It is possible for some people to have no symptoms at all. However, in men symptoms can include enlarge testicles, burning during urination and yellow, white, or green discharge. In women symptoms can be mild but,  increased levels of discharge, bleeding in between periods and burning during urination. If the infection is in the anus it can cause bloody stool, painful bowl movements or discharge.
  • Treatments: Gonorrhea can be cured with the right medication however, the disease is developing more and more drug-resistant strains. (For more information, visit  http://www.cdc.gov/std/gonorrhea/stdfact-gonorrhea.htm)
H
Hepatitis A, B, C
  • Causes: While hepatitis can be caused by many other factors like alcoholism some of the strains can be transmitted sexually.
  • Symptoms: Loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, fever, stomach pain, dark urine.
  • Treatments: Your doctor will discuss treatments depending on your condition and how advanced the disease. (For more information please visit, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002139/)
HIV
  • Causes: Transmitted sexually through unprotected sexual contact, needle sharing, or occupational exposure (Anyone in the medical field should take special care and always wear gloves. Doctors, nurses, EMTs, nurses ect) Also, I feel it important to mention that Pre-exposure to other STDs can increase you susceptibility to contracting HIV because it's easier to contract with a weakened immune system.
  • Symptoms: Usually symptoms of HIV are non-exsistent until ir progresses towards AIDS. If there any symptoms at all it feels like the worst possible flu. Muscle aches, fever, soar throat, chills, rash, fatigue, ect.
  • Treatments: You cannot cure HIV as of yet but you can keep it in check with medications prescribed by your Dr. (For more information visit, http://aids.gov/
HPV (Genital)
  • Causes: Transmitted sexually through unprotected sex of the anus and genitals.
  • Symptoms: Genital warts, warts in the throat and different types of cancers are symptoms of HPV. However, most people who are infected don't show any signs or symptoms.
  • Treatments: There are vaccines available for HPV. These vaccines are used as preventative measures however, once contracted if your body cannot fight off the virus an infection will happen. HPV cannot be cured because it is a virus. Like all other viruses, if your body is strong enough it will clear itself like it does with the flue of chickenpox. (For more information http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/stdfact-hpv.htm )
Herpes
  • Causes: Transmitted sexually from unprotected sex with a person infected with Herpes simplex virus 1 or Herpes simplex virus 2.
  • Symptoms: Usually symptoms of herpes of non-exsisten to mild and are sometimes mistaken for other skin conditions. Visible symptoms of herpes are blisters the genitals that break and become soars. Also, when a person has their first outbreak they can experience flu like symptoms.
  • Treatments: Herpes cannot be cured but you can take antiviral drugs to shorten the duration of outbreaks and transmission to others. Your doctor may also suggest taking immune builders, and keeping stress levels low to keep outbreaks to a  minimum.  (For more information visit, http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/STDFact-Herpes.htm)
L
Lymphogranuloma

  • Causes: Transmitted through sexual contact with an infected person.
  • Symptoms: This is a bacterial infection that attacks the lymphatic system so you may get drainage from your lymph nodes, pain and/or swelling n the groin area, swelling in the labia, painful bowl movements, and blood or pus from the rectum.
  • Treatments: This is curable with the right antibiotics and care. (For more information visit,http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001658/)

Is My Vaginal Discharge Normal?

An important part of good sex is a happy and healthy body. What's important for that? A healthy vagina. And healthy vagina's have discharge. We've heard this question several times (you'd be surprised). Ladies, we aren't sure or just plain don't know what is a healthy vagina. So, let's talk about it! Our Crimson Love reports.

* * *

Vaginal health is so important and can have an affect other parts of your life. When your vagina is happy, you're happy too. When your vagina isn't happy, you can feel the affects in other parts of your life. You're a little less confident, a little more withdrawn, and a little more stressed out. An important key in your vaginal happiness is discharge.

What is it?

Take off your underwear and see a thin/ thick white-ish mucus? That's vaginal discharge. Is it normal, you ask? Well, first let's define what is it? Vaginal discharge is a secretion from the glands in the vaginal walls. It can sometimes be white and creamy or clear and it has no bad smell.

Is it normal?

Now that we have the definition covered, yes, vaginal discharge is very normal. However, the amount of discharge varies from woman to woman. Vaginal discharge also varies based on womens' menstrual cycles. According to Go Ask Alice, there are several kinds of discharge based on a womens' menstrual cycles. Check out their chart below.

What is its purpose

The purpose of discharge is to work as a self cleaning system for the vagina. It cleans the vagina of dead skin cells and other things that shouldn't be there. It also can be used as an indicator if there is something wrong.

What happens if something is wrong?

If there is something wrong with your vagina, your discharge will change colors. It will go from being clear or milky to brown-ish, greenish-yellow or a grey color. Also, it will develop an odor, it may become clumpy and cottage cheese-like and sometimes the amount of discharge will increase exponentially. Other things to look out for are itching, burning, and redness. If you notice any of these symptoms you should schedule to see your doctor.

Things to Consider - Your discharge production will change throughout your life. It changes during the course of your menstrual cycle, ovulation, sexual arousal and it will change as you age. If you are still unsure, contact your doctor. A huge part of your vaginal health is discharge. It's normal and can tell you a lot about your health!

Lady Gaga Says Stop Body Shaming

GetLusty is a sex positive organization that believes in the beauty of all people in all of their glorious different, shapes, sizes, and colors.

The inspiration for this article not only comes from the media but also the insecurities of one or two of our own staff members. There's been a lot of talk in the last several days about Lady Gaga's change in body. Well, Lady Gaga took on this critism and made her own new comeback announcing she's dealt with bulimia and anorexia since she was 15. Her new campaign, Body Revolution, aims to end shame. Crimson Love reports.

We admit, it's kinda funny that it's slightly ironic, though, that a thin lady is talking about body shaming & body positivity?

***

What is body shaming?

We have been living in a day and age where we are taught to be ashamed of what we have, who we are and what we are if it's not the standard or "better". In the media we see a lot of body shaming (criticism of others for not having the "perfect" body).

We see a lot of famous stars getting the brunt of this negative attention which, trickles down to regular society. You may think that it's alright for famous stars to be held to a higher standard or, for overweight people to be told to loose weight. But why? Because famous people are supposed to be beautiful and someone needs to tell the overweight people the truth about how being big is unattractive? No!

What's the problem?

When we partake in the dismembering of someone's looks we are perpetuating a standard of what we think people should look like, in addition to belittling their talents and them as a person. Our aesthetics-based society is allowing us to objectify men, women, and girls and by doing so everyone is expected to meet unrealistic standards.

We have created an environment that is not safe or conducive to self love and appreciation. Women and girls fall so hard in these situations and turn on each other. Instead of helping and encouraging one another, we join the media in the age old patriarchal bashing of our feminine figures in all of their beautiful variety. And for what? It accomplishes nothing and does more harm than good by giving everyone a complex. Being healthy is important but that doesn't mean everyone needs to be lean stick figure. Who do we need to please but ourselves?

Stopping the cycle

The good thing is that in recent years we have seen a huge turn around in the fight against body shaming and looks based discrimination. Companies like Dove started their Real Beauty campaign to showcase women of all different shapes, sizes, and colors. In 2010, Dove launched the Dove Movement for Self-Esteem which allows older girls and women to help mentor younger generations and together celebrate beauty. Earlier in 2011, Vogue Italia had their own campaign about real beauty and femininity. They featured spreads of some of the most beautiful plus sized models in the industry.

The more we learn and celebrate what real beauty is all about, the more we can help tear down these unrealistic expectations and diminish the increasingly dangerous body shaming problem.

Celebrate you!

How to Tell Your Lady You Want a Blowjob

OK, gentlemen. Last week we on how women can tell their partners they want oral sex. After the article was published we received comments from men asking what about them! How do they tell their woman they want head without being too pushy? Well, gentlemen here is your article! How to tell your woman you want head! Our Crimson Love reports.

* * *

When it comes to oral sex sometimes there is just no good way to ask for it, You don't want to be too pushy or too overbearing. Here are some tips to asking your lucky lady!

#1 Provide incentive

Make sure to stress the point that if your lady gives you head  you will be able to please her better. In a relationship selfish lovers never get very far. So, make sure that you both know that each other's pleasure is equally important.

#2 Be sweet about it

Sometimes women can be silly creatures and sometimes outside influences can have an affect on how we perform in bed and what we do.

Cook her dinner, take out the garbage, and get her in a more relaxed mood. When you take away some of the irritants and distractions of the day she can better focus on the nocturnal festivities.

#3 Ask her what she wants

Ask her what would make giving you head more enjoyable. From her answers you can get creative and make it fun or more interesting for her and she will be more willing to do it. If she says she would like your cock dipped in chocolate. Dip it!

#4 Stroke her ego

When asking her for a blow job let her know you really enjoy her skills and the way she does things. Also, when she is getting busy let her know you like what's going on by moaning and being verbal.

We hope you get head, gents. If not, or if you have other sexual questions, please e-mail us directly. Get in touch with rachael@getlusty.com and we'll send your question to a professional who cares. You're not alone in sexual problems. We all have them, so share and we can help!
